Michael Leighton Beaman is Co-founder of Beta-field and GA Collaborative and Associate Editor for ii Journal and Design and Technology writer for Architectural Record. Named 2012 Emerging Practitioner by the AIA, Beaman focuses on the theory and application of technology and its implications for design culture, sustainability, and socially conscious design practices. Beaman has taught extensively including at UVA, UT Austin, Harvard University, NC State, Northeastern University, and Kigali Institute of Science and Technology. He holds a BArch from North Carolina State University and a MArch from Harvard University. Beaman teaches various topics in advanced design studio and Human Factors in the graduate program.
